South Dakota’s Deadwood casinos generated $17 million in revenue in August, up 8.2% year over year.
The South Dakota Department of Revenue figures show that slots accounted for most of the combined figure, generating $15.1 million, up 9.6%, while table games generated $1.8 million, up 2%.
Among slot games, one-cent slots recorded the highest revenue for August, posting $12.9 million, up 10.2%. Other major generators among slot types included $1 slots ($814,994), city slots ($657,086), and 25-cent slots ($340,383).
For table games, blackjack was the highest generator for the month, reporting $830,757, up 13.6%. Other big generators included house-banked poker ($685,551) and craps ($100,315).
Out of all game types, city slots had the biggest year-over-year revenue increase, rising 41.2%, followed by five-cent slots, up 27.7%, and 25-cent slots, up 27%. $25 slots recorded the biggest revenue decline for August, down 85.6%. Other big drops came from craps, down 54.2%, and 10-cent slots, down 52.5%.
