A Camp Hill skill games vendor announced Thursday it will lay off 81 employees, blaming the state legislature for failing to regulate the industry.

Republic Amusements, the parent company of Capital Vending, Apple Vending and Entertainment Experts, said it has filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice with Pennsylvania, giving 60 days notice of the layoffs.

The second-generation family-owned Republic Amusements works with bars, restaurants, fraternal organizations, family entertainment centers and convenience stores in Pennsylvania. The company said the 81 employees serve about 1,000 locations in the state.

“My family started this business nearly 64 years ago, and it’s incredibly frustrating to work this hard — to build something that supports great employees and real opportunities for small businesses — only to have our elected officials refuse to take action,” Joe Calla, COO of Republic Amusements, said in a statement.
