With exactly 40 days until the November election, the battle over a potential northeast Indiana casino is heating up.
On November 3, voters in Allen, DeKalb, and Steuben counties will decide a ballot referendum: “Shall inland casino gambling be permitted in [your county]?”
Under state law passed earlier this year, if more than one county approves the measure, casino operators will submit bids to the Indiana Gaming Commission, which will award a single license.
Steuben County officials are putting themselves directly in front of the public. The Steuben County Board of Commissioners, along with the local tourism bureau and economic development corporation, has a public Q&A scheduled on Thursday, October 8.
