A public question on inland casino gambling will appear on the DeKalb County November general election ballot, as well as on ballots in Steuben and Allen counties.
The question will appear even though county officials have not had any public discussions about a casino. Voters will be asked, “Shall inland casino gambling be permitted in (insert the name of the county)?”
On Wednesday, the DeKalb County Election Board certified putting the question on the Nov. 3 ballot. Similar action was taken earlier this month by the Steuben County Election Board and the Allen County Elections Board.
House Enrolled Act 1038, signed into law by Gov. Mike Braun, allows an inland casino to be located in either Allen, DeKalb or Steuben county.
