My first job in gaming industry?
Stepping in as Executive Director of the ARPG Council leading responsible gaming for Arkansas and treatment resources right out the gate. No small start, but exactly where purpose meets impact.
What do you like about working in gaming?
The people. The ability to connect with operators, government leaders, and communities—all working in different lanes but toward a shared goal of safer, smarter play.
Did anything surprise you about the industry when you first started?
How close-knit this industry really is. It’s a “small world” where collaboration matters and relationships carry real influence.
Were you familiar with gambling before landing a job in the industry? What were your thoughts about gaming before starting to work in the industry?
Gaming has always been around me family ties gave me early exposure but stepping into leadership brought a new perspective. I came in both nervous and hopeful… ready to turn lived experience into meaningful service for others.
Has your impression of the industry changed at all?
It’s evolving fast. From racetracks and riverboats to digital platforms, the growth is reshaping economies, expanding access, and raising the stakes on consumer protections and overall experiences.
What major trends do you see emerging in the gaming industry over the next 5 to 10 years?
Looking ahead, the focus will be on highly customized consumer experiences driven by greater interactivity, smarter technology, and deeper engagement. Innovation will continue to push the industry forward, but it must be guided by responsibility, with a more integrated approach that connects wellness, entertainment, and meaningful player experiences.
What advice would you give to aspiring leaders in the gaming industry?
To anyone looking to step into this space: Network relentlessly, stay curious, say yes to opportunities that stretch you
Is there anything else you want to share about yourself, your journey or the industry.
I’m grateful to grow alongside this industry and even more driven to help shape it. The future of gaming isn’t just entertainment, it’s about people, protection, and progress.
