Illinois casinos generated $192.8 million in revenue last month, up 10.8% year over year.
The Illinois Gaming Board figures show that slots accounted for most of the combined figure, generating $146.6 million, up 7%, while table games produced $46.2 million, up 24.6%.
Of the state’s 17 casinos, Rivers Casino recorded the highest revenue for August, up 10.6% to $46.3 million.
Other big revenue generators came from Wind Creek ($19.8 million), Hollywood Casino Aurora ($16.6 million), Hard Rock Casino Rockford ($13.8 million), Hollywood Casino Joliet ($13.2 million), Bally’s Chicago ($12.8 million), Grand Victoria ($12.3 million), Full House Resorts ($11.4 million), and Harrah’s Joliet ($10.4 million).
Eleven of the 17 casinos posted year-over-year revenue increases. Hollywood Casino Aurora, which moved to land in June, recorded the highest increase, up 77%, followed by Fairmount Park, which opened a new casino in April, up 52.2%; Hollywood Casino Joliet, up 18.4%; Wind Creek, up 16.2%; Bally’s Chicago, up 14%; and Golden Nugget Danville, up 10.9%.
Harrah’s Metropolis reported the highest year-over-year revenue decrease last month, falling 7.6% to $5 million. Other big declines included Argosy Casino Alton, down 6.8%, and DraftKings at Casino Queen, down 6.2%.
