A series of technical failures has proved costly for the Davos casino, who was fined by the Swiss Federal Gaming Board (CFMJ) to the tune of CHF970,000 [$1.2m].
The casino, operated by the Ardent Group, allowed banned players to access the casino777 website, its online gaming platform, in 2023 due to a technical glitch. A software update caused a major malfunction on the online gaming platform of the casino, located in the canton of Graubünden. According to Journal des Casinos, over a period of several days, over 150 players banned due to addiction and debt problems managed to access the site and place bets, thus generating illicit revenue for the gambling establishment.
