In the same week Novig launched its prediction market platform across the U.S., it also sued the state of New York to protect its interests.
Novig announced its nationwide launch Tuesday of its sports event trading platform. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission designated the company as a Designated Contract Market earlier this summer. Previously, Novig has operated as a betting exchange, Colorado sportsbook, and since 2024, a sweepstakes sportsbook.
Following the launch, Novig then sued New York to prevent the state from enforcing its gambling rules on the platform.
According to Novig, it has already generated more than $6 billion in trading volume on its platform.
