  1. CBC’s flagship evening news show, The National, reported on the highly competitive regulated sports betting and igaming industry in Ontario, including the debate over the volume of online gambling advertising since the market opened 14 months ago.
  2. The International Betting Integrity Association, with support from bet365, Betway, and FanDuel Canada, will provide $300,000 over the next three years to create education programs for athletes and other participants in sport on match-fixing and fraud related to wagering. The administrator of the program will be announced at a later date.
  3. Canadian esports and sports betting operator Rivalry launched this week a mobile app for its customers in Ontario.
  4. The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport has introduced an e-learning course for Canadian Football League players and personnel to explain the league’s new match-manipulation policy.
  5. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario confirmed Wednesday to Gaming News Canada that there were 40 submissions to the commission’s call for feedback to its proposal to amend the rules around the use of athletes and other celebrities in online gambling advertising.
