ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – Slot-machine gambling in New Mexico is producing bigger returns overall, with tribal casinos showing an increase but racetrack casinos recording a drop.

Overall, the Gaming Control Board reports that total “net win” from slot machines increased by about 4 percent in 2012 from 2011 and just barely topped $1 billion for the first time.

Net win is the amount wagered on slot machines after deducting payouts to winners and approved regulatory fees.
