Australia-facing bookmaker Sportsbet has appointed Michael Foster chief information officer.

Founded in 1993 and owned by Flutter Entertainment, Sportsbet was Australia’s first licensed bookmaker. Today, the company serves more than 2 million customers. Foster has worked with the company for over seven years.

“Michael is no stranger to our business, having been with us since 2016 in a number of senior technology leadership roles,” Sportsbet said in a release. “With over 20 years in technology roles across several industries, Michael brings extensive technical leadership experience to the CIO role. We’re excited to welcome him to our leadership team.”

Foster’s previous roles at Sportsbet include general manager of enterprise technology and general manager for customer experience delivery.

“Sportsbet is an incredible organization to be a part of,” Foster said on LinkedIn. “The last seven years have been incredibly rewarding both personally and professionally. To now have the opportunity to lead our technology capability is honestly a dream come true.”

His prior tech experience includes roles with Infosys and Sensis, where he served in several management roles, including as group manager for IT operations. In his new role, Foster will lead Sportsbet’s technology team.

“Our technology team has a fantastic track record of combining tech innovation with customer needs, creating incredible products and experiences. I look forward with energy and excitement to supporting and helping the team continue to achieve these outcomes and strive to even further heights.”

Flutter Entertainment is aiming to move its primary share listing from the London Stock Exchange to the New York Stock Exchange by the end of this month, which would result in the company dropping out of the FTSE100 index.
