South Dakota’s Deadwood casinos generated revenue of $13.2 million in March, down 2.6% year-over-year.
A report published by the South Dakota Department of Revenue shows that slot machines accounted for $11.7 million, down 0.7%. Table games generated $1.4 million, down 16.5%, and sports wagering revenue was $155,770, up 2.3%.
One-cent slots were the highest revenue generator at $9.9 million, remaining nearly unchanged (-0.01%) year-over-year. The highest revenue increase for the period, at 194%, came from $25 slots, which generated $42,881 in March. Revenue declines of 41.2%, 33.7% and 16.2% came from 25-cent slots, $5 slots, and 10-cent slots, respectively.
House-banked poker led the table-game category in March, recording revenue of $581.703, down 16.7%, followed by $517,762 generated by blackjack, down 25.4%. Craps revenue was down 4.2% to $151,012. The two table games showing an increase for the period were player-banked poker, up 2% to $92,548, and roulette, up 93.3% to $47,339.
