Deadwood casinos generated $15.5 million in revenue in August, up 4.3% from the $14.9 million generated in the year prior.
The recent report from the South Dakota Gaming Commission, which divides revenue by game type instead of by the 22 casinos, showed that of the total, slots generated $13.8 million, and table games generated $1.8 million.
Craps saw the highest year-on-year increase of 408.7%, despite the number of craps tables in the state decreasing from four to three. Roulette also saw profits increase, by 35.3% from $63,063 to $85,317.
One-cent slots in the state accounted for 73.3% of the state’s total after generating $11.7 million in August, an increase of 8.7% year-over-year from $10.8 million. In contrast, five-cent slots saw a decline of 68.1%, with profits decreasing from $90,189 to $28,772.
Sports wagering in the state generated $146,968 in August, an increase of 39% from the $105,719 in August 2024. The NFL generated the highest statistical win of $38,862, with MLB coming in close second, generating $36,606.
