PLAINVILLE, Mass. (AP) – Revenues at Massachusetts’s first and so far only casino are on a downswing.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission reported Tuesday that Plainridge Park Casino pulled in nearly $12.6 million in gross revenues from its slot machines in October. That’s down from over $12.8 million in September.
The earnings represent the third consecutive monthly revenue drop for the Plainville harness racing track and slot parlor since it posted $13.9 million in revenues in July. The facility generated $12.9 million in gross gaming revenues last October.
A spokesman for the casino declined comment.
Massachusetts collects 49 percent of all gambling revenues from Plainridge Park, with about 82 percent of those revenues designated as financial aid for local communities. The remaining 18 percent subsidizes the state’s horse racing industry.
