Plainridge Park Casino, in Plainville, Mass., generated $14.1 million in gambling revenue in March, the third best month the gambling facility has posted since it opened in June 2015, according to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
The total marked an increase from recent months, when revenue ranged between $12 million and $12.8 million.
“It seems like things are not only settling out but also maybe starting to creep up,” said Gaming Commission Chairman Stephen Crosby.
Plainridge is taxed on 49 percent of its gross gaming revenue, with 82 percent of the tax levy going to local aid and the remaining 18 percent to the state’s Race Horse Development Fund.
Plainridge is limited by state law to 1,250 slot machines, about one-quarter as many as Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun. Plainridge is prohibited from operating table games.
Since Plainridge opened, gamblers have wagered $3.49 billion. The state has collected $138 million in taxes and race horse assessments.
