Revenue from historical horse racing machines in Kentucky rose 4.1% in September. On a same-store basis, the increase was 2.6%, not counting the relatively new Marshall Yards casino.
The increase was achieved despite one fewer weekend day than in August 2025 and no Labor Day weekend. The overall gross was $95 million.
Marshall Yards, which opened in February, did $1.4 million in business. Its 223 HRMs averaged $206 per day.
Despite a 3.1% decline, Derby City was the highest-grossing casino with $18.3 million. Its 1,247 devices averaged $473 daily, the highest per-machine numbers in the Bluegrass State.
Business at its Derby City Downtown counterpart soared 14.2% to $1.7 million. The 382 slots did a daily average of $143 apiece.
The second-highest-grossing casino in the state was Oak Grove with $15.7 million. Its 1,222 devices had a 2.3% improvement, averaging $413 each per day.
Newport saw an 0.9% uptick, reaching $3.3 million. At 451 machines, it had a daily average of $238.
It was outgrossed by Turfway Park racino, which made $6.5 million. The 776 Turfway Park HRMs averaged $270 a day, as grosses improved 1.8%.
One of the few revenue-negative racinos in the state was Ellis Park, down 3.7%. It made $2.3 million, with a $254 daily average from its 286 devices.
At $4.9 million gross was reported at Owensboro, which was up 3.5%. Owensboro had a per-slot average of $266 daily across its 592 HRMs.
