Iowa casinos generated $136.1 million in revenue for July, down 6% year-over-year.
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission figures show that slots accounted for most the total, yielding $123 million, down 6.7%, while Table games generated $13.1 million, up 0.8%.
Of the state’s 19 casinos, Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino reported the highest revenue for the month with $20.2 million, remaining stable compared to the previous year. Other big revenue generators included Horseshoe Casino Council Bluffs, down 3.9% to $13.2 million, and Ameristar II, down 16.5% to $11.4 million.
Only four casinos recorded year-over-year revenue increases in July. Bally’s Marquette, which moved landside in March, was up 35.8% to $2.3 million. Other increases came from Harrah’s Council Bluffs, up 4.6%; Q Casino, up 2.7%; and Wild Rose Jefferson, up 1.6%.
Rhythm City Casino recorded the highest revenue decline, falling 28.4% to $7.1 million. Other big decreases came from Lakeside Casino, down 12%, and Great River Casino, down 10.9%.
