Iowa casinos generated $131.4 million in revenue for August, down 13.1% year over year.
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission figures show that slots accounted for most of the combined total, generating $119.7 million, down 12.4%, while table games generated $11.7 million, down 19.7%.
Of the state’s 15 casinos, only two recorded year-over-year revenue increases. Bally’s Marquette was up 31.5% to $2.5 million, and Wild Rose Clinton increased 7.1% to $2.9 million.
The biggest year-over-year revenue declines came from Rhythm City Casino, which fell 26.6% to $7.5 million, Great River Casino Resort, which dropped 23.5% to $3.1 million, and Grand Falls Casino Resort, which declined 22.5% to $6.6 million.
The highest revenue generators for August included Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino ($20.1 million), Horseshoe Casino Council Bluffs ($12.4 million), Ameristar II ($11.3 million), and Riverside Casino and Golf Resort ($10 million).
