Global Gaming Women announces $450,000 raised for education fund during G2E

Advocacy organization Global Gaming Women recently announced that its Oct. 11 Kick Up Your Heels event at Wynn Resorts during the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas raised approximately $450,000 for its charitable education fund.

More than 600 guests attended the event presented by Wynn Resorts, Coca-Cola, Aristocrat Gaming, and Kirkland & Ellis.

The funds raised will be used to provide professional development assistance for women in the gaming industry.

At Kick Up Your Heels, GGW also unveiled its brand makeover and introduced the Patty Becker Pay it Forward awards honorees. The recipients are:

  • Grainne Hurst, Entain Group Corporate Affairs Director. Hurst is a member of GGW’s executive committee and is the founding international committee chair, leading GGW’s expansion into Canada, Europe, and Australia.
  • Sue Schneider SBC Vice President of Growth & Strategy, Americas. Schneider has been a member of GGW’s events committee since 2015 and played a key role in the organization’s first Women of Inspiration event.
  • Siobhan Lane, Light & Wonder Executive Vice President and CEO. Lance is GGW’s 2nd vice president and directed the rebranding initiative unveiled at G2E 2023.
  • Tashina Lazcano, Konami Director of Marketing and Communications. A member of GGW’s marketing committee, Lazcano is also a Lean-in Moderator for the organization.
  • Brooke Fiumara, OPTX Co-CEO. Fiumara is co-chair of GGW’s marketing committee and also is a Lean-in Circle moderator.
  • Erica Okerberg, Greenberg Traurig Global Gaming Practice Group Vice Chair. Okerberg has served on the Kick Up Your Heels fundraising committee and has been instrumental in garnering support for GGW from industry partners in the legal field.

On Oct. 12, GGW’s Sip & Social breakfast featured a keynote speech by Las Vegas Raiders President Sandra Douglass Morgan for 400 attendees. Sip & Social also recognized the first two classes of “10 Women Rising in Gaming Under 40,” a partnership with CDC Gaming.
