Gaming equipment giant International Game Technology officially appointed Lorenzo Pellicioli as chairman of the manufacturer on Monday.
Pellicioli had served as acting chairman follow the departure of Phil Satre in August.
Pellicioli had been vice chairman of IGT since 2015, when the company was formed following the $6.4 billion merger between lottery giant GTech Holdings and slot machine provider IGT. The new company took on the IGT name.
Pellicioli served on the GTech board as chairman from 2006 to 2015. Pellicioli has been CEO of De Agostini – an Italian investment company – since 2005.
“I am honored to serve as chairperson for IGT and I look forward to working with the directors and senior management to guide continued success in the future,” Pellicioli said in a statement.
Satre resigned from the IGT board when he was named vice chairman of Wynn Resorts. He was named chairman of the casino operator earlier this month.
IGT also appointed James McCann as vice chairman and lead independent director. McCann has served on IGT’s board since 2015.
