José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT, said, “We are taking advantage of this showcase to launch our main exhibition, Gaming & Technology Expo Cartagena 2024, as next year we will celebrate 25 years of continuous work, integration, and promotion of the gaming industry in Latin America. At the end of the exhibition, a reception will be held for the media, Colombian artists, and industry personalities. The positioning of the fair in Cartagena is exceptional. Last March, we had visitors from 41 countries and four continents. We are expanding the exhibition space at Cartagena Las Americas Convention Center with two additional halls. Some exhibitors claim to have achieved sales of up to $5 million and several business alliances in the previous version.”

“On April 9, 10, and 11, 2024, Cartagena will be dressed up to serve the participants of GAT Expo. The path of technology in the entertainment industry is dizzying, so we are incorporating novelties such as eSports tournaments, a universe in full development that seeks to professionalize and regulate the eSports category. This topic and AI are impacting, I mean revolutionizing the industry and will be part of the contents of the academic agenda of GAT Expo Cartagena with national and international speakers, experts in innovation and the latest technological trends, as an activity prior to the exhibition of equipment, products and services.”

The September 8 event will be attended and supported by government authorities and the main trade associations of the sector: Asojuegos, Cornazar, Fecoljuegos and Fedelco.

Since 2016, Coljuegos, the Colombian Gambling Authority, has authorized the operation of sports betting and online games and currently there are 17 platforms with 8.5 million active player accounts throughout the country.
