Caesars Entertainment’s WSOP.com is the first online poker platform serving the United States to combine player pools from Nevada, Michigan and New Jersey into the same platform, allowing players in those states to play against each other in cash games and tournaments for the same prize pools.
The upgraded WSOP platform, which was formerly known as WSOP.com and has been rebranded as WSOP Online, offers new features on the WSOP mobile poker app, including four-table capabilities, Omaha variants, multi-fight re-entry tournaments, in-app gift drops, game derivatives and more.
Caesars also will hold 30 online bracelet events that will take place during the 55th World Series of Poker tournament, which runs through July 21 in Las Vegas at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. Events also will include online satellite tournaments where players can qualify for WSOP land-based tournaments.
“This platform upgrade is long overdue and is a big win for our players,” said Danielle Barille, vice president of online poker at Caesars Digital. “The best is yet to come for WSOP Online tournaments, and we’re thrilled to bring Michigan players into the fold with Nevada and New Jersey, resulting in a better experience, more value and the biggest prize pools of the year.”
The latest development highlights WSOP’s potential to add to its pool of players from more states in the future, as online poker is also legal in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia, though none of those states have signed on to the Multi-State iGaming Agreement.
