The Ho-Chunk Casino in Beloit held a soft opening Thursday, giving local community members an early look inside the venue ahead of its official public launch today.
The new facility contains in excess of 40 table games, more than 1,000 slot machines and several dining areas. Work remains ongoing as construction crews labor to finish the hotel and convention spaces.
Lynette LeGarde, public relations director for the project, recalled seeing the premises when it was merely an empty hall. LeGarde noted that witnessing the transformation provides a feeling of achievement. “We’ve been here since I started in April, but it’s nice to actually see people in the building, to have life in it, to have entertainment on the stage.
