The Ho-Chunk casino already is one of Beloit’s 10 largest employers.
Thursday marked the final hiring event that the Ho-Chunk Nation held at Beloit College’s library to staff up for the as of yet still unannounced opening date for the 240,000-square-foot casino and restaurants.
As of Thursday morning, 527 employees had been hired for the casino and related businesses in Beloit, which puts Ho-Chunk ahead of such companies as Hormel and Fairbanks Morse Defense and Beloit College in terms of number employees.
Ho-Chunk, which held its first hiring event at Beloit College in February, has conducted another 400 interviews for the 250 or so positions left to fill, according to Lynette LeGarde, senior manager of public relations for Ho-Chunk Gaming Beloit.
