Online prediction market Kalshi says the Washington State Gambling Commission and the state attorney general’s office have engaged in “selective-nonenforcement” against other prediction markets, according to a letter obtained by The Spokesman-Review.
The letter, sent by a lawyer representing Kalshi to the Washington Gambling Commission on Friday, says the attorney general’s office has “not taken any action against any other” besides Kalshi, which is currently heavily restricted in the state after a King County judge found it violates state gambling laws.
The attorney general’s office disputes the claims and says that Kalshi is the largest entity operating in the state.
