A new entertainment and casino development, WarHorse South Sioux, broke ground Thursday in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
The development will be located across from the WarHorse Gaming horse racing track on G Street. The site sits south of Highway 20, about a mile west of the Missouri River.
It will be 63,000 square feet and include 600 slot machines and 16 table games. A hotel on the site will have 100 rooms. The development will also include an outdoor concert space and conference space. Ho-Chunk Inc. is developing the project at an estimated cost of $100 million.
Lance Morgan, president and chief executive officer of Ho-Chunk Inc., said the company chose the site in part because of its size and ideal location.
