The new and improved Atokad looks more like a “real” racetrack than it has in years.
The South Sioux City racetrack, controlled by WarHorse Gaming, a subsidiary of Ho-Chunk, Inc., is in its second year at its new site on G Street, south of Interstate 129, not far from the Dakota Avenue interchange. WarHorse is planning to build a casino adjacent to the racetrack on the opposite side of G Street…
It’ll all be more grand and impressive in the future, said Ho-Chunk CEO Lance Morgan.
“Right now, we’re checking the box and running the races,” Morgan said. “But as we build the casino, we’ll have more revenue, you know, in order to build up all the infrastructure around it.”
