The beach is back!
As a matter of fact, Friday marked the first Independence Day holiday in three years that casinos on the northern end of Atlantic City’s shoreline have had a decent beach for their guests and locals to use.
A $38.2 million beach replenishment project over the winter pumped sand onto the north end of the city’s beaches, widening them substantially in time for the crucial summer season.
On Friday, people were enjoying newfound space in front of the Ocean Casino Resort, which had endured the worst of recurring erosion that scoured away sand, leaving little to no dry beach in recent years.
