Seaport Research Partners said it expects Macau’s gross gaming revenues to grow by 10% year-on-year in September, representing a significant rebound after GGR fell short of consensus in August.
The research house does, however, note that September forecasts vary wildly with some analysts tipping gaming revenues to stay flat compared with September 2025.
After the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) reported Tuesday that GGR had fallen 1.2% by year-on-year to MOP$21.9 billion (US$2.71 billion) for the month of August, compared with Bloomberg Asia consensus of between 1% and 2% growth, Seaport’s Vitaly Umansky said customer visitation and agent activity had still demonstrated some recovery over the past month, with VIP hold said to be high but mass hold down slightly year-on-year.
