New York disputes Seneca Nation claim of agreement on new gaming compact

There is more confusion regarding an “agreement in principle” for a new gaming compact between the Senecas and the State of New York. The revelation originally came from the Seneca Nation President on Thursday.

2 On Your Side on Friday spoke with a state lawmaker and city leader who say they are trying to sort out what really happened.

That apparent casino agreement news brought this reaction from New York State senator who is the Senate Minority Leader and a Republican lawmaker in Niagara County.

“I know for a fact the Governor’s Office called certain elected leaders — myself not a part of that — last month to tell them that there was a deal, or at least the framework of a deal…” Rob Ortt said.
