The African Responsible Gaming Network (ARGN), a new organization dedicated to tackling gambling-related harm and strengthening player protection, has launched on the continent.

Comprising responsible gaming organizations, researchers, treatment specialists, advocates and industry stakeholders, the ARGN will operate as a unified African platform. The group will focus on responsible gambling, education, prevention, treatment, research and policy development.

Its work will be based around four strategic priorities. These include developing a continent-wide evidence base on gambling harm and improving access to treatment, recovery and support services. It will also develop policy recommendations and responsible gaming measures, as well as coordinate awareness and prevention campaigns.
