An expansion of the Sheraton Nashua hotel, which would add Gate City Casino, four restaurants, a parking garage and more, was approved by the Planning Board Thursday night.

The approval comprised five votes by the board, including conditional site plan approval for the second phase of the plan.

Once the expansion is completed in five years, the iconic south Nashua property, rebranded Gate City Casino Hotel, will have an additional 92,860 square feet of gaming space and 480,878 square feet of structured parking.

The board unanimously approved a conditional use permit to move Gate City Casino from 55 Northeastern Boulevard to the hotel at 11 Tara Boulevard, the final site plan for Phase 1 of the project.
