Former Nebraska football coach Tom Osborne has joined more than 40 other current and former Huskers in opposing two ballot measures that would legalize mobile sports betting in the state.
Among those to join Osborne in signing the letter of opposition are coaches Ron Brown and Mark Manning, former players Turner Gill and Roy Helu Jr. and multiple current Nebraska baseball players and others associated with athletic programs.
A press release from Save Nebraska Sports stated the letter warns that online sports betting would put student-athletes, Nebraska families and the integrity of college athletics at risk while enriching out-of-state gambling companies.
