Trading platform Robinhood has filed a lawsuit against the Massachusetts Gaming Commission over the potential enforcement of state gambling laws.
Last week, a lawsuit was filed against prediction platform Kalshi, alleging that it offers unlicensed sports betting in the state. Robinhood was named as it provides users access to Kalshi’s sports events contracts.
Robinhood is attempting to block gambling laws from impeding the sports prediction markets that the app offers its customers. It argues that because all trades occur on the prediction market platform Kalshi, these gambling laws should not apply.
