Macau’s gross gaming fell to MOP$18.1 billion (US$2.24 billion) in September, representing a 1.2% year-on-year decrease, according to data from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).
This was also 17.5% lower than previously released figures for August, with the city yet to fully rebound from the challenges presented by the football World Cup in June and July.
Based on the DICJ’s figures, GGR for the first nine months of 2026 combined grew 3.2% to MOP$187.1 billion (US$23.2 billion).
The September decline comes despite Seaport Research Partners previously suggesting that customer visitation and agent activity had demonstrated some recovery in recent weeks.
