According to data from Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), industry-wide gross gaming revenue (GGR) reached MOP$22.6 billion (US$2.80 billion) in May, representing a 6.7% increase compared with the same month last year.
It was also 13.6% higher than in April, when GGR was MOP$19.9 billion (US$2.47 billion).
For the first five months of 2026 combined, Macau’s GGR has climbed to MOP$108.4 billion (US$13.4 billion), up 10.9% year-on-year.
Industry analysts had forecast a positive GGR result for the month of May, aided by a strong 1 May holiday period and subsequent tailwind. However, they have also warned that year-on-growth will become more challenging from now onwards due to tougher comps.
