A judge ordered a three- to eight-year prison sentence Wednesday for a Las Vegas woman who worked as a sex worker and provided drugs to a man before he fatally overdosed in a Strip hotel room.
Heidi Warner, 25, pleaded guilty in June to voluntary manslaughter, admitting that she was responsible for the death of a Utah man named Seneca Higley in February 2024.
In exchange for her plea, prosecutors agreed to make no recommendation at sentencing. Warner previously faced second-degree murder and controlled substance charges.
Police indicated that she sold Higley counterfeit pills later determined to be fentanyl.
She appeared at the sentencing hearing out of custody, but was led from the courtroom in handcuffs after District Judge Michelle Leavitt sentenced her.
