Illinois: May casino revenue up 4.7% on the year in Illinois

Illinois Gaming Board issued the latest monthly report detailing information on Illinois casinos’ admissions, receipts and gaming data.

During May, casinos in Illinois generated more than $122 million in total adjusted gross receipts (AGR).

The revenue figure represents a 4.7% monthly decrease compared to April when AGR was more than $128 million. Interestingly, May 2023 revenue represents a 4.7% yearly uptick compared to May 2022, which was $116.57 million.

The state collected over $23.91 million in taxes, whereas the local share was $6.97 million.

Out of 13 Illinois casinos, Rivers Casino in Des Plaines near Chicago was the leader in gaming revenue. It is also the only gaming venue to collect more than the previous month.
