The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) has confirmed its online licensing portal, active since September 2023, will not return to service following an extraordinary data breach.

This, the regulator explained, involves the conclusion of associated service agreements to support the platform, which suggests it has ended its contract with former MGA top regulator Mario Galea and his company Random Consulting.

It comes after the offshore gambling world was rocked by a bombshell data leak in September after hacker Lilith Wittmann publicly released more than 40,000 documents uploaded to the site after gaining unauthorized access last year.

In a 7 October press release, the regulator wrote: “The CGA is taking the necessary steps to transition away from the current platform and the services associated with it, while ensuring continuity of its regulatory functions.”
