Cleveland Guardians partner with Bet365 for mobile wagering, have no immediate plans for a sportsbook at ballpark

The Guardians unveiled planned renovations at Progressive Field for 2024 and 2025 on Thursday, but absent from the designs was any mention of a sportsbook or space devoted to sports gambling that resembles facilities that opened earlier this month when sports gaming became legal in Ohio.

Brian Barren, Guardians president of business operations, said that although sports gambling arrived here on Jan. 1, Major League Baseball rules currently prohibit certain types of gambling spaces within the confines of a team’s ballpark.

Right now there are no definite plans to put a sportsbook on or outside the ballpark, and the club does not know when or if the rules preventing them from doing so will change.
