Gamblers settled in to slot machines and dealers huddled around table games Tuesday at the Ocean Casino Resort, a day after a small fire and flooding from a burst pipe caused the shutdown of gambling activities there, costing one of Atlantic City’s top-performing casinos over $1 million in lost revenue.
The casino floor reopened at 12:30 p.m. and gamblers who had huddled behind barriers flowed into it, heading for slot machines.
“We are open for business,” said Bill Callahan, the casino’s general manager. “If you had asked me 24 hours ago if we were going to be open, I would have said definitely not.”
