Slots, table games and sports betting were unavailable Monday at Ocean Casino Resort after an early morning fire in a linen closet lead to colipase of portion of the ceiling in the lobby.

The hotel is operating at limited capacity, Ocean management said in a statement on Facebook.

Emergency personnel responded to a reported fire at the property at 5:31 a.m., according to the Atlantic City Fire Department. When crews arrived, they found a fire in the linen capture room.

The fire produced heavy smoke and burning debris. While fighting the fire, a significant water release occurred, resulting in heavy water flow throughout the property, the Fire Department said. The water caused a large ceiling collapse in the lobby, with additional water in elevator shafts and back-of-house hallways.
