The city’s main casino workers’ union has reached short-term contracts with two-thirds of the city’s casinos, and is working on similar deals for the remaining three.
Local 54 of Unite Here says it has inked contracts with six casinos, the most recent of which was Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.
Union members voting in a ratification election approved the pact by a 99.3% margin.
The contract, like those signed with the other five casinos, is for one year.
Union President Donna DeCaprio said the union and the casinos agreed that it is better to agree on a one-year deal now with significant uncertainty facing the Atlantic City casino market.
