Last month was “one of the worst Septembers in recent history” for in-person gambling in Atlantic City, an industry analyst said Monday.

Internet gambling in New Jersey remained in near-record territory in September, once again taking in more money from online gamblers than from those who travel to the resort.

Figures released Monday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement show the casinos and their online partners won $274.8 million in September, up 13% from a year earlier.

That figure surpassed the $227.8 million the nine casinos won from in-person gamblers.
