Mendoza has closed the traditional gaming area at its central casino in Godoy Cruz, ending roulette, blackjack and poker-table operations as the province restructures its gambling regulator amid a broader shift towards regulated online betting.
The traditional gaming section at the Casino de Mendoza’s central venue, on Avenida San Martín in Godoy Cruz, closed effective 5 August. Slot machines remain in operation. The measure affects 81 employees, who may opt for voluntary retirement, relocation within the public administration or a six-month availability period on pay.
The closure forms part of a wider reorganization of the Instituto Provincial de Juegos y Casinos (IPJyC), Mendoza’s gambling regulator.
