A sweepstakes casino company that emerged as one of U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s notable campaign donors in March increased its support this week, contributing $100,000 to the Republican gubernatorial candidate and pushing its total donations to the campaign to $130,000 this year.

Campaign finance reports show Boulder, Colorado-based VGW Luckyland Inc. made the six-figure contribution on Monday, helping Tuberville raise more than $533,000 in August from over 1,400 donations and maintain a commanding fundraising advantage over Democratic rival Doug Jones.

Tuberville ended August with more than $9.5 million in cash on hand, compared to roughly $2.5 million for Jones.

The Democrat nevertheless posted his strongest fundraising month of the campaign, raising more than $1.1 million in August.
