U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) isn’t against passing a gaming bill in the state, but doesn’t want to rush the process.
The House passed a comprehensive package with a lottery, casinos and sports betting in 2024. The Senate stripped it down to a lottery and limited electronic gaming – and the compromise died one vote short of the 21 needed in the Senate.
Tuberville, the Republican nominee for Alabama Governor, discussed the issue this week on Alabama Public Television’s “Capitol Journal. ”
“I think the governor’s office should be on top of everything in terms of how it’s all put together,” Tuberville said.
