Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, today announced the grand opening of a poker room and sportsbook is scheduled for May 3, 2024. The 14-table poker room and Las Vegas-style sportsbook are part of a $190 million renovation project that started in September, 2023.
“We are excited to bring the next level of an entertaining sports betting atmosphere to our guests,” said Potawatomi Casino Hotel CEO Dominic Ortiz in a statement. “We appreciate the patience our guests have given us while we build out these two extraordinary projects. I can assure them, it will be well worth the wait.”
The poker room will feature games including 1-3 No Limit, 2-5 No Limit and Pot Limit Omaha. Featured promotions include hourly high hand jackpots and a bad beat jackpot.
The 6,500-square-foot Potawatomi Sportsbook will feature a large LED screen, a broadcast booth, and more than 20 televisions, with seating for 200 over two floors. Kiosks and ticket writers will be available for casino guests.
“There is not a retail betting space outside of Las Vegas that can compete with the high-end venue we’re unveiling on May 3,” said Potawatomi Sportsbook Director Sean Cullen. “With the 75 kiosks we currently have, we are number two in the country for gross gaming revenue of publicly reporting sportsbooks. We believe our new retail sports betting venue will make us a top travel destination in the Midwest.”
The poker room and sportsbook will feature food and beverages, with 48 beers on tap including Dealers Choice Potawatomi Pilsner.
“In all my years in the gaming industry, the opening of sportsbook and poker room has to be the most exciting time in my career,” Ortiz said.
