JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – The hot streak continues for Mississippi casinos, with gambling halls statewide posting another revenue increase in February.

It’s the sixth time in the seven months since sports betting began that gamblers have lost more.

State Revenue Department figures released Wednesday show casinos won $173 million statewide in February, up 2 percent from $170 million in February 2018.

Receipts rose to $74 million at 15 casinos along the Mississippi River, up 1 percent from last year.

The state’s 12 Gulf Coast casinos won $99 million, up 2 percent from February 2018.

Revenue statewide is up 4 percent over the last 12 months. River casinos show a 2 percent increase, the first time revenue there is up year-over-year since 2007.

Numbers exclude Choctaw Indian casinos, which don’t report winnings to the state.
