The Great One is joining BetMGM.
The sports betting and digital gaming company Wednesday announced it has signed Wayne Gretzky as a brand ambassador.
“BetMGM is a terrific company and one at the forefront of the dynamic changes taking place in the sports business,” Gretzky said Wednesday in a statement. “I’m excited to be a part of the company’s continued expansion into new states and territories and to help tell BetMGM’s story.”
Over the last month, BetMGM has increased its presence in sports circles. In May the company struck partnership deals with the Baltimore Ravens, the LPGA, and New York Racing Association. BetMGM also announced plans for the BetMGM Washington DC app and a sportsbook at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
“Wayne is an exceptional talent who transcends the sports world and we’re proud to welcome him to the BetMGM team,” BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost said in a statement. “As we look toward potential expansion into Canada, and elsewhere throughout the United States, Wayne will bring a unique ability to tell our brand story.”
Last week Gretzky, the NHL’s all-time leader in both goals and assists, was introduced as an analyst for Turner Sports hockey coverage that begins next season. The Globe and Mail of Toronto said Gretzky will be paid $3 million per year to work with Turner.
